Book 1 Project!! :D

Book One Project:
There are many amazing ideas that can be chosen to help promote Room but these are the top 3 that I have chosen…
1)      Room: The Video Game (Rated T for Teen for mild violence, mild suggestive themes) follows the story of a 5 year old boy named Jack. You play at Jack throughout the entire game. The game begins with an intro cinematic explaining how and why you and Ma are trapped in Room. For the first couple days in the story you learn about Jack’s and how he is trapped by the clutches of the evil Old Nick and your plan to escape Room but in order to escape you need to earn enough bravery points.  In the day part of the game you can collect Bravery Points by playing mini games with Ma or by yourself when she is “away”. Once it becomes night in the game you must hide in the wardrobe before Old Nick catches you and takes half of your bravery points for that day.  Once you achieve enough bravery point for that section of the story you can move on to the next part of the story which starts with another cinematic.
a.       This video game will help promote Room by actually letting you play through the storyline of the book to grasp an understanding of what is really going on.
b.      This video game will encourage people to read the actual book and see what happens and what parts they missed from the video game.
c.       People will see the commercial for the video game and wonder where the idea came from so they will look up the book and possibly buy it.
*Blooger wouldn't let me insert my game cover*
2)      Room themed T-shirts. Three to five different t-shirt designs that are Room themed. Majority of the proceeds will go to fund charities such as the JAYC Foundation to help victims of kidnapping and their families. The shirts will be $10 each.
a.       The book will raise awareness about the book and kidnapping.
b.      Majority of the proceeds will go to a good cause.
c.       The shirt is at a reasonable price.
*Blogger wouldn't let me insert my wonderful picture of the t-shirt :_(
3) Roomthe Movie (PG or PG13 depending on how much is depicted from the book). The movie will follow the book plotline and climaxes but majority of the movie will primarily take place on the first half of the book where Jack is trapped in Room and a couple days after he escapes instead of dragging on to after he escapes for weeks upon weeks. The intro will start where Jack is born into the world and closely follow his life and scenes as he’s growing up such as birthdays and playing games then dive straight into the storyline and the night where he sees Old Nick for the first time. The movie will most likely be Co-Directed by Emma Donoghue so she can give input on what she pictured the book would be like when she wrote it instead of what the director envisions the book like. That way it will be hard for the movie to be a failure because it’s Co-Directed by the author who will interpret the movie the way they wrote the book. The movie will end the same way that the book ended where Jack and his mom visit room and say good bye to it.
a. This movie will completely promote the book because many people will go out and buy the book and read it before the movie comes out
b. Many people will see the trailer commercial and GoogleRoom because they are curious to see what the movie is about.

Why do I like to read??

I like to read because I enjoy being transported into a different world or perspective when I read. When you read a book about wizards, like Harry Potter, you wish that you could be a wizard. I know some people that wish they could fall in love with a vampire or a werewolf (ya I mean you Twihearts). Or after reading a romance novel you wish that your life could be like that where it’s all perfect and you find true love.
I also enjoy reading just to relax and not be stress due to tons of homework. Even though I enjoy playing video games, it’s always nice to sit down and read a good book whether  it be relaxing on the back porch during the summer time or curled up under a blanket in the winter time.
I think my favorite types of genres are fantasy and romance. I just enjoy seeing a brand new world and story come alive in a fantasy novel like the Warriors Series by Erin Hunter. I also enjoy those romance stories where you know right off the bat that two people are going to end up together, but it’s always nice to read their story of how they fall in love and imagine the path that you’ll take when you meet that special someone.
At a young age I’ve always liked to read and I hope that I’m able to keep reading my entire life and enjoy it. J
